Building a custom home means managing an architect, a designer, a lender, a dozen trades, and a budget that has to hold for eighteen months. Black Oak is the team that runs the whole project — front to back — so you only have to trust one.
Most custom home stress doesn't come from the building. It comes from the gaps between everyone involved. The architect hands off to the builder. The builder points at the designer. The lender needs something nobody told you about. You end up holding five relationships together and hoping they add up to the house you wanted.
They usually don't, not on their own. Somebody has to own the whole picture.
We take on a few builds at a time. That's the point.
The St. Croix Valley has excellent builders. If you want volume and speed, several of them will serve you well, and we'll happily tell you who.
We built Black Oak for the opposite. A small number of projects a year. Owners involved on every one. The kind of attention you can only give when you're not stretched across twenty job sites. If that's the build you want — personal, careful, and yours — that's the only kind we do.
